AIR SURVEYS - As an evaluation tool to assist your company with troubleshooting process air and HVAC system issues, Yadkin Valley Mechanical is experienced and ready to provide the analysis and solutions to your air systems concerns. Our knowledgeable engineering staff, working in conjunction with our experienced field technicians, will evaluate your needs, document the findings and then execute a plan customized to your particular objectives.

These surveys will identify which processes and systems are functioning effectively and efficiently and which are not, allowing us to offer cost-effective recommendations regarding maintenance, upgrades and replacements in order to ensure the proper function and end results for your business. These surveys will also help to evaluate current capacity shortfalls or excess capacity that maybe allocated for future needs.

We offer this service on an as-needed basis but always recommend that monthly, quarterly or annual air surveys be considered for those clients who depend upon properly functioning equipment in their manufacturing processes. YVM representatives would be happy to work with you and set up a program that best fits your company's needs.

ENGINEERING AND DESIGN - Yadkin Valley Mechanica is different from other companies in that we provide all the services you need to complete a project from start to finish. This includes engineering and design – two key components to a turnkey solution that keeps cost low and efficiency high.

Our experienced design and engineering staff possess capabilities in the following areas:
  • environmental
  • HVAC
  • industrial
  • mechanical
  • process air systems
  • structural

We also give your company the advantage of customization. Many mass-producing, industrial ventilation manufacturers don’t have the ability to customize their standard systems to your unique needs - we do.

We don’t believe in cookie-cutter solutions, because we know your company is anything but ordinary. Our engineering and design teams have the expertise to develop the customized solutions your facility may need.

We utilize AutoCAD software technology to maintain the highest level of accuracy and efficiency for our engineering and design.

Using such programs has enabled YVM to develop unique solutions to common ventilation system problems, such as:
  • customized slot geometry to improve collection hood and tissue machine airflow
  • in-depth analysis of foundry furnaces to improve heat transfer efficiencies
  • specialty fabrication design of insulation enclosures to cut down sound and draw out moisture during the casting/molding shake-out process

Our additional plotting capabilities include a new multi-function, large format, full-color plotter. This sophisticated equipment allows our design and engineering teams to plot, copy to file and scan to file large format documents up to widths 36” in length.

FABRICATION - Yadkin Valley Mechanical’s in-house fabrication of our ventilation systems and structural steel components ensures a high standard of quality control. We are able to test and check each piece prior to shipping and onsite assembly, reducing installation costs that may be impacted by fabrication.

Our team and facility has the capability of fabricating a variety of metal substrates, including:
  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum
  • Galvanized steel
  • Hot and cold rolled mild steel
  • Corten

Our fabrication division has the ability to create original or replacement equipment and specialty structures to enhance the ventilation processes, including (but not limited to):

  • Baghouses
  • Cartridge Collectors
  • Classifiers
  • Core ovens
  • Cyclones
  • Drop-out boxes
  • Dust hoods
  • Fume hoods
  • Sand silos
  • Scrubbers (dry and wet)
  • Stacks

FLOW ANALYSIS - A Yadkin Valley Mechanical Flow Analysis ensures your ventilation system’s airflow maintains maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Even if we didn’t install your ventilation system, we can test all equipment, design new enhancement and increase performance to enhance your overall company’s air system efficiencies. We also have the capability to study complete facility air patterns as a means of identifying opportunities for improved air flow.

MAINTENANCE - On request of our clients, we can provide a monthly, quarterly or annual maintenance plan to ensure the ventilation system is running as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Such plans include scheduled air surveys, airflow testing and balancing, and additional source identification. Maintenance plans are a very effective way to save money because it extends the life of equipment and ensures your ventilation system is providing clean air for the environment and your employees.

Our experienced installation and field foreman are ready and willing to respond to any problems you may have regarding your ventilation system. Following traverse testing procedures, we ensure your systems continue to meet emissions requirements.

TESTING AND BALANCING - Once all ventilation machinery is installed, our experienced team of engineers conducts testing and balancing procedures to ensure all components are working properly. We feel there’s an artistry involved in balancing airflow, as even the lightest of air movements can impact the stability of an entire system.

Let us assist you in your system testing and balancing needs, providing you with energy savings, extended equipment life and improved operational efficiencies – all through three key steps:
  1. Engage your system to simulate normal operating conditions.
  2. Perform traverse air readings on all ductwork, taking an average of 10 horizontal and vertical readings to determine the airflow’s cubic feet per minute rate.
  3. Install necessary blast gates or orifices throughout the system to provide correct air pressure. After the airflow modifications, we plug the reading holes to yield easier future access.
